I used to go this bar pre-pandemic when I worked in Oakland. The place was heaving especially on a sunny day. My most recent trip was at 2PM on a Wednesday. It is pretty close to the Oakland Museum. It has a large outdoor area including another level. We got carded and our IDs put through some machine to validate authenticity. We ordered a mango slushie with tequila which was perfect for the hot day. Great place for big groups. I didn’t try the food this time. Last time, Lumpia company had a pop up. They also used to have decent bar food.

A nice little drinking establishment. Bar food is pretty standard fare, but pretty good. The bartenders are friendly, and the drink selection is pretty good. The patio is a great space to socialize.

Cool ambiance to sit and visit with friends and the awning rolls out at night (shown before & after). * Be advised, dogs ARE allowed, kids are NOT allowed, and as of 2/26/22 vaccine cards are required. Don't come FOR the food though -- tiny portions so low value to us for the price point. Mole Croquettes had good flavor, but only 3 small ones. Pork tacos also very good/flavorful, but 3 small tacos. Left to get food elsewhere...

We love coming here and bringing friends when they visit. Has two levels with bars and outdoor seating. Great spot!

I love this place, I also love Room 386. Owned by the same people ! Rad! Great outdoor space with a cozy hipster indoor spot for the great American pasttime. Both places are really nice have excellent beer selection while simultaneously having good mixed drinks. The food me u os perfect for drinking and gaining weight. Also they have fun games. Who doesn’t want to shoot some hoops after a few brewskis.

Super fun bar with great beer and cider selections on tap along with great bar food. Highly recommend the fried chicken sandwich

Perfect place for a happy hour, which was how I came to discover Mad Oak. Seems a little off the beaten path of places in Oakland, but very well worth it. Will go back again soon to sample more beers and have their delicious fries.

This is a very chill, clean bar with a nice ambiance. It’s always nice to come out and hang with friends, and they have a great selection. It’s also not overpriced.
